MailSERVE Features

LAN, WAN and WEB based USPS CASS Certification/DPV Validation Server

MailSERVE provides LAN, WAN and WEB based USPS CASS certification and DPV delivery point validation service to client applications using Perl, PHP, CGI, Java, ASP.NET, C/C++, C#, VisualBasic, PowerBuilder or any programming interface supporting TCP/IP sockets.

AES offers three different servers; Windows GUI server, non-GUI Windows server and a our new Linux server. In some cases running a MailSERVE server can be avoided directly linking USPS CASS certification and DPV validation directly to the client.

Windows 4GL API

Rapid deployment 4GL tools such as VisualBasic, PowerBuilder, etc. use our DLL, msapix.dll, with two external entry points that resolve hostname and make the CASS/DPV/eLOT request returning the CASS certified results. Details of 4GL integration are described in the technical note.

3GL and non-Windows API

AES provides C source that implements the DLL, msapix.dll. The C sources include the #ifdef’s supporting various socket implementations; winsock, UNIX, Linux, AIX, etc.

Web Scripting Languages - Perl CGI, ASP.NET, Java, C#, etc.

AES provides sample scripts integrating MailSERVE service for most web based clients. The steps setting up and making a request from the server include:

  • If necessary, resolve server hostname's IP address
  • Open the service socket at IP:PORT
  • Construct the address stream and make the request receiving the certified address results
  • Use CASS certified results to replace raw input address attributes
  • Commit CASS certified and DPV validated address

Client Application Direct MailSERVE Link

If the client application is run as a single instance on the local host, the address matching code can be dynamically linked to your client application. If multiple clients are required, the client/server model results in more efficient utilization of USPS AMS-II cache memory.
