User-defined File Definitions

File definitions are used to control how mailing lists are imported or exported. Mail-LIST file definitions support comma-delimited and fixed-field data files.

Mail-LIST - User-defined File Definition

The drop down list box opens any existing definition and initializes the data-window with its rows.

Rows

There is a row for every field that should be imported or exported. If all lengths are > 0, the file definition is fixed-field. If all offsets are > 0 and all lengths are = 0, the file definition is delimited-field. If all offsets and lengths = 0, the definition is dBASE and the comment is the column's name.
