High-Rise
Lookup - Building/Firm
CASS certification & DPV Address Validation
Postal high-rise/firm lookup has fields for building
name, unit designator {STE, APT, OFC, etc.} and unit number. These
fields and all previous tab clues are used to limit the building and
firm candidate list.
High-Rise
Lookup Tour Slide
The postal building/firm address context is "ADAMS
AVE, MONTGOMERY AL". The street door number was not specified
and the postal ZIP-code was set implicitly by selecting "ADAMS
AVE" in the street lookup tab. There is a red 'F' flag before
the name column if the row is a firm.
USPS CASS Certification and DPV Delivery
Point High-Rise/Firm Address Validation
The message line guides the user to a single CASS
certified DPV delivery point validated high-rise or firm address solution.
The user could also enter a building unit number that would CASS certify
and DPV validate all listed candidates eliminating high-rises and
firms invalidated by the unit number clue. A <right-click>
on any high-rise/firm row will display the USPS ZIP+4 ranges
for the high-rise building or firm.
Painter address solutions are echoed to
the MailSTAR CASS block where the CASS certified address can be used
to update the address list or print an envelope complete with POSTNET
barcode. The MailDPV delivery point validation component pages describe
USPS DPV functionality in the address painter.
High-Rise Firm Lookup Window
The high-rise lookup window lists candidate building
and firm street door numbers, names, unit designators and absolute
ZIP+4 integer and alphanumeric unit number ranges. The ZIP-code column
always includes the five-digit ZIP-code and will include the ZIP+4
add on if the address has been CASS certified. High-rise and firm
rows without ranges only have a default ZIP+4 range record. For an
explanation of default ranges refer to MailSTAR online help. <Right-click>
on a building or firm candidate row opens the ZIP+4 range window showing
all ZIP+4 unit number ranges for the clicked candidate.
High-Rise/Firm Lookup Context
If postal street lookup has established a list of
one or more streets, the high-rise search is limited to buildings
and firms found on streets in the street list. If present, the street
door number contributes to the search context. Otherwise if postal
ZIP-code is specified, candidates are limited to the single ZIP. Otherwise,
the scope of the search is all ZIP-codes in the established city as
well as ZIP-codes in proximity to the city as determined by the USPS
finance number. High-rise and firm context also includes the three
clue fields ...
High-Rise Lookup Name Clue
This field is not live requiring <ENTER> before
updating the building and firm list. The clue field uses literal,
phonetic or wildcard lookups on high-rise tokens or full names. A
phonetic token name lookup example was presented on the features page
under the title phonetic lookup.
High-Rise Lookup Unit Designator
and Number Clues
These fields are not live requiring <ENTER>
before updating the building and firm list.
Incomplete
Puerto Rico Building Addresses
Puerto Rico addresses frequently leave out the
street number and street name reporting only the building name.
Such addresses are incomplete and do not have to be delivered.
The painter resolves Puerto Rican buildings
without street information allowing high-rise lookup based solely
on the building's name. This feature permits correcting incomplete
Puerto Rico high-rise addresses when the input address does not
provide a delivery line.
Most buildings outside of Puerto Rico do not
have USPS published names while almost all Puerto Rico building
names are published.
