Ambiguous addresses cause return mail. This example has three candidate records as shown by the image's arrow cursor. Note the "1 of 3" pointed to by the arrow. The prototype uses
‹UP-ARROW› ‹DOWN-ARROW› to see address options.

It is doubtful that the original address could be delivered. The prototype did not replace the address because of the ambiguity.
Existing ApplicationsThe user should be warned that the address is ambiguous and be given access to candidates. Mail*SERVE address quality flags and USPS® standard DPV® footnotes are available to the user to help make an informed choice.
If address validation occurs while in direct contact with the recipient, there should be almost no possibility of failure.
