DPV® Software - Tie Breaking
The following input address has three USPS® CASS™ candidate records. Mail*STAR broke the tie and bumped the reliability of the winner by one point.
Tie breaking logic when used to make an address choice, always reports itself using a flag starting with ":" and a single lower case character indicating what tie breaker was used.
The flag ":v" in the first example reports that DPV confirmation was used to break the tie. The following three snapshots show the three USPS CASS candidate records, but only the first one is DPV confirmed.
Without DPV confirmation this input address could not be resolved.
